Anthony Barbiero, a third generation graduate of St. John’s School of Law, was admitted to the bar in 1992 and has litigated medical malpractice and significant injury cases for 28 years. At his prior firm, he not only handled matters from inception through trial but also served as the Managing Partner and grew the practice from 40 to 70 lawyers. Under Mr. Barbiero’s leadership, BBOCLLP has engaged in developing a culture that is more transparent and thus more fiscally responsive to the diverse needs of its clients. He has been principally guided by a mission to be a Best Practices law firm and has implemented systems that reward the team over the individual, thereby helping to achieve the goal of exceptional client service. As such, the Firm has concentrated on practicing a results-driven model that has enabled clients to reap the benefits of the exceptional legal talent within the firm.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Barbiero has specialized in the handling of a wide variety of civil litigation involving the firm’s corporate, transportation, hospital, and health care clients, as well as construction entities and municipal defendants involved in complex tort litigation in state and federal court from inception through trial. He has also represented clients before the Office of Professional Medical Conduct, the Office of Professional Discipline, and the State Commission of Correction.

Mr. Barbiero recognizes the importance of simplifying complex contractual, legal, and medical issues so that they can be clearly presented and understood by the client, judge, and jury that may ultimately decide the case. He is active in the development of risk management strategies for clients of the firm and has lectured for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, as well as hospital grand rounds and bar associations in multiple jurisdictions.
